Thoughts are powerful, but they are within your control

“The more you own the power of your own decision making, the more your life and outcomes will be within your control.”

You are in control of what you eat, how much you move, and most importantly your own thoughts! Your thoughts dictate your feelings. Keep your thoughts positive and you’ll feel it!

Let me elaborate… when you tell yourself “I’m too tired” or “I’m overwhelmed” or “I can’t do this,” your mind and your body believe you! We all do this sometimes or a lot of times. Take back control of your thoughts. That’s where the power is. I’m not saying to lie to yourself, but reframe your thoughts so your body and mind react differently.

Instead of “I’m too tired,” try reframing your thoughts and thinking “It’s been a long day, but I can get through this workout!”

Instead of “I’m overwhelmed,” try reframing as “I’m overwhelmed, but I’m learning and I know I’ll figure it out.”

Instead of “I can’t do this,” try reframing it as “I can do this, even though it’s a challenge!”

Your brain believes what you tell it and what you tell it is up to you! You do not have to believe all of the thoughts that go through your head, nor do you have to allow them to be there. This is within your control and the more you practice it, the better you will become at this important strategy. The first step is awareness. Be aware of the thoughts going by. Watch them as if you’re a bystander or a spectator at a game. Just because you have a thought, doesn’t mean it’s true nor does it mean we have to believe it. You are in charge! Change your thoughts to set you up for success, not failure! Be impeccable with your word, not only with others, but most importantly with yourself!
